Violin

Thoughtful violin lessons that build strong foundations.

Our violin lessons focus on building strong foundations from the very beginning — developing good technique, attentive listening, and a natural sense of musicality. Students are guided step by step, with teaching that is both structured and responsive to the individual.

Miranda Dyskin

Miranda started playing the violin when she was four and began piano lessons at the age of five. Miranda completed her Bachelor of Music at WAAPA (Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts), majoring in classical music performance on violin. She has studied violin with Semra Lee-Smith (associate concertmaster of WASO), Paul Wright (former Head of Strings at WAAPA), and Riley Skevington (concertmaster of WASO and current Head of Strings at WAAPA). Miranda received her AMus (Award for Excellence) on violin in 2018, Certificate of Performance (Honours) on piano in 2021, Grade 5 (Honours) theory in 2018 and Grade 6 (Honours) musicianship in 2019.  Miranda loves to share her joy of music with others and is passionate about teaching.

Renee Tan

Renee is a dedicated young violinist who performs with the Western Australian Youth Orchestra. She achieved a High Distinction in her Grade 7 AMEB exam and is currently preparing for Grade 8.

Having played since the age of five, Renee brings both experience and enthusiasm to her teaching. She creates a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel confident to grow, and loves seeing them light up when they master something they’ve been working towards.

Alongside violin, Renee also enjoys playing piano, acoustic guitar, drums, and cajón.
