Lesson Times

Lessons are available in 30 or 60 minute blocks. The benefits of longer lessons vary depending on the instrument, age and skill level.

Pricing and Payments

30 minute lessons are $40; 60 minute lessons are $80 (all include GST).
Lessons are pre-paid a term in advance. Payments can be made by Cash, Bank Transfer, PayPal, MasterCard, Visa or Amex.

Naomi Geste
Principal, Administrator, Voice, Piano, Songwriting

Naomi has a Certificate IV - Jazz Music, Grade 5 ABRSM Theory high distinction, Advanced Diploma – Music Artist Industry, and is now in her third year of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts’ Contemporary Bachelor majoring in song writing, music production and vocal performance. She approaches every task with depth, integrity and creativity; this is especially evident in her teaching. Naomi is very passionate about empowering and nurturing independence in young musicians by encouraging self-awareness and teaching technical music skills in engaging and effective ways. She uses her varied background and experience to work with her vocal and piano students to achieve musical goals and performance standards relevant to the industry.

Sam Wylde
Piano, Production

With a Bachelor of Composition under his belt, being a five-time WAM Song of the Year nominee and the winner of the Robert Juniper Award for the Arts should come as no surprise. Sam doesn't just spend his time winning awards though, he has been teaching privately and in primary schools for many years; as well as producing and engineering local artists; writing, recording and performing his own work from his studio Fable Productions. A highly sought after teacher, Sam tailors his lessons to each student maintaining interest, progress and fun with even his longest standing students.

Christina ‘t Hart
Violin

Christina has been playing the violin since the age of seven and is currently completing her bachelor of Secondary Education, majoring in Music at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and Edith Cowan University. She has performed in large and smaller ensembles including WAAPA Faith Court Orchestra, Western Australian Charity Orchestra, WAAPA String Camerata and the Albany Chamber Orchestra. Christine has years of experience teaching both violin and cello to students ranging from 3-30+ years old and has also recently expanded her teaching studies to include the first level of the Australian Kodaly Certificate in secondary music teaching.

Jacob Diffen
Drums, Sound, Production

A natural teacher, Jacob has been working with kids of all ages for almost a decade. His energetic and focused approach brings the best out of any student and provides an environment for them to thrive. Since graduating from the Advanced Diploma of Music Industry in 2017, Jacob is nearing completion of his Bachelor of Composition and Music Technology. Equally at home behind the drums on stage or manning the desk in the studio, Jacob’s keen ear for quality sound makes music the best it can be. His journey through Perth’s live music scene in his late teens has informed his current roles engineering and producing the musical endeavours of others. Jacob’s pursuit for precision and industry know-how has led him back into the teaching world at Dalkeith Road School of Music, and to our lucky students.

Abby Stevenson
Voice

Abby is a contemporary vocalist from Perth and has completed a Bachelor of Contemporary Music with Honours from the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts. Abby has been performing with her twelve-piece brass band, the Two Cent Professionals since 2015, and the exciting new bass and vocal duo Lilted Sessions known for their incredible arrangements of classic tunes. Some of Abby’s most notable achievements include performing backing vocals for Guy Sebastian on the Perth leg of his most recent tour and Katy Steele at this year’s State of the Arts festival, recording vocals with rappers such as Drapht and Coin Banks, as well as performing with Mama Kin and Tommy Spender for the launch of their Aria nominated album Golden Magnetic. Abby aims to encourage students to pursue their passion for music, instil confidence in their performances, and provide excellent vocal technique and training. She looks forward to being part of your vocal journey!

Keaton Staszewski-Hose
Piano, Guitar, Voice

Although Bach and Mozart are Keaton’s greatest musical idols, he is thrilled by all genres and particularly enjoys playing jazz standards on the piano. Keaton, who is studying a Bachelor of Classical Music at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), has participated in multiple successful seasons of the Bunbury and Fremantle Eisteddfods, often taking out first place in classical and musical theatre items. With a busy performance schedule at the academy, Keaton can be found singing with their Chamber Music Choir Eneksis, performing opera with his cohort or dreaming of an operatic career! Second only to his passion for the stage, Keaton thoroughly enjoys teaching music and is committed to ensuring each student receives a rich musical and instrumental education.

Keenan Levis
Guitar

Keenan's passion and understanding of all kinds of music has been developing since picking up a guitar at the age of eleven. This passion has continued to grow culminating in Keenan’s fourth and final year in the Bachelor of Contemporary Music Performance on electric guitar, at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. With a love for many styles of guitar ranging from acoustic/folk to metal, jazz and just about everything in between, Keenan tailors every lesson to best suit the student's individual musical tastes and goals using his extensive knowledge. When not practising, Keenan is big of sports and spicy bowls of ramen.

Chelsea Wylde
Choir

With natural tone and grace, Chelsea has a voice and stage presence that is highly sought after. Regular appearances at The Ellington Jazz Club led her to performing with Lior, Nigel Westlake, WASO, House Gospel Choir and Fatai as well as working with seasoned writers, producers and musicians in Los Angeles on the beginning stages of her first solo release. Chelsea’s EP Edge of Myself is now available on all listening platforms world-wide. When Chelsea is not running the Dalkeith Road School of Music Community Choir or flying to Sydney for voiceover work, she can be found nurturing the beautiful plants at our school or writing more soul inspiring songs.

Shanay Cullen
Voice

Shanay is a second year in the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts’ acclaimed contemporary bachelor degree. She is part of the all-girl a Capella group Darling and has performed at Perth’s finest venues and events, including The Ellington Jazz Club, Fairbridge Festival, Dunsborough Songfest, the Rosemount and Fremantle’s Aardvark. Shanay is currently in the process of writing and recording her debut EP due to be released in 2019. Shanay is passionate about guiding her students to grow in confidence as they develop their own individual and unique voice and performance style.

Trevor Stockton-Rice
Piano, Voice

Having quite literally hopped around the world from Canada to a short 10-year-coffee stop in Scotland, Trevor has now settled in Perth where he is completing a bachelor degree in Contemporary Music at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts on piano. Trevor has spent the last four years soaking up and contributing to the Perth music scene where his incredibly diverse skillset and humility wows audiences and players alike. If you hear Trevor singing in the corridors you’d be forgiven for thinking it was Freddie Mercury, one of his biggest influences. Trevor brings his all-encompassing passion and appreciation for anything music to every lesson, where every student benefits from his well-earned knowledge.

Lucas Jones
Songwriting

Perth alt-folk singer/songwriter Lucas Jones writes songs that will move you. With his penchant for storytelling and explorations of the heart; Lucas crafts delicate, melancholic folk that speaks of love, life and loss with a quiet and reflective depth. Lucas has spent the last six years fronting Perth folk-rock band These Winter Nights and carries on the emotive folk sound, with solo work rooted in honest lyricism, heart and soulful vocals rich in harmony. After releasing his debut single Beth mid-2016 and gaining rotation on triple j unearthed, Lucas has been consistently performing in venues all around Perth, having opportunities to share the stage with acts such as Riley Pierce, Mark Wilkinson and Winterbourne, as well as working on his debut EP Renew, a raw and intimate offering of rich and textured folk available October 2019. Lucas is Dalkeith Road School of Music’s first dedicated songwriting teacher and brings his wealth of experience, empathy and creativity to every collaboration.

We are taking a little break this term while our fearless leader Chelsea Wylde settles into her new routine, however please do enquire as we may well be up and running for Term 4!

Do you love to sing? Do you want to do it just for fun? Then our Community Choir is perfect for you! No singing or music-reading experience is required either!

Besides singing great soul, blues, pop, gospel and folk songs, you'll learn improvisation and harmonisation; improve your rhythm, ear and pitch; and build confidence. It's musicality and fun combined!

We meet on Wednesday evenings from 7pm-8:30pm during school term with a break for tea and coffee!. You are free to join us at anytime during the term.

Each choir session is $10 per person.
